Limited Liability Podcast

ACCA unveils podcast detailing reform to UK company law

Liability limitation agreements – Companies Act 2006

ACCA has launched a podcast presented by John Davies, ACCA’s head of business law, outlining a major reform to the Companies Act 2006.

The reform, which came into force in April 2008, will have a significant impact on auditors and their company clients as now, for the first time, the auditor’s liability for the work they undertake can be limited.

In particular, the podcast explores:

  • why the reform has been made
  • the nature of the problem that limitation agreements are trying to solve
  • the practicalities of limitation agreements
  • the impact on three key stakeholders, namely: auditors, company directors and shareholders.

If you are following the unit route, and provided this is relevant to your role, this podcast may contribute towards your CPD requirement.
