15.00 – 17.00 Session 3 HOW TO GET YOUR POINT ACROSS AND BE UNDERSTOOD Getting your point across can be challenging for even the most confident person. Often we either fail to be clear about what we want and need from any given situation, or we are all too clear in stating our needs and wants, sometimes to the detriment of others. There are behaviours we can use that will help us to get our point across and be able to listen to others’ point of view without bowing to pressure from them. In short to plan to reach a mutually satisfactory conclusion.
KEY FEATURES • appreciating that behaviour breeds behaviour • saying what you mean – core phrases, opening lines • be yourself – conscious impression management • model for changing to the more confident you.
