FREE EVENT - New HMRC Powers - What do they mean in Practice

Event: FREE EVENT - New HMRC Powers - What do they mean in Practice

  • What are the new powers?
  • The practical issues for taxpayers and practitioners
  • The new penalty regime
  • Tax investigations - an overview

The session will look at the new HMRC powers brought in by the 2008 Finance Act and which mark a sea change in HMRC's approach. This will have a dramatic effect on practitioners and taxpayers alike. The session will look at the new rules, how, why, where and what, with practical examples to give an insight to the relevant issues. Hopefully the knowledge will enable the knock on the door to be dealt with in the appropriate way. The session will also look at the new penalty regime. A brief overview of the investigation process, and how one should be handled, will conclude the session.
