| The International Social and Environmental Accreditation and Labelling (ISEAL) Alliance is an association of leading voluntary international standards systems that focus on social and environmental issues. Members include the Fairtrade Labelling Organisations International (FLO), the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM), among others. The ISEAL Alliance strengthens and promotes credible and accessible voluntary standards and verification to bring about positive social and environmental change. The ISEAL Alliance is looking to expand over the coming few years and are looking to contract a Financial Consultant to assist in developing our financial strategy for the forthcoming period of growth and expansion. You would be working closely with our Executive Director and Finance Team to visualize and document the implementation of our Strategic Plan for 2009-2013 from a Financial Management perspective. As part of our ongoing financial strategy we would expect you to contribute to the oversight and strategic analysis involved in the production of a written report that will contain: A Financial Model over 1- 5 years. A Financial Management Control and Reporting framework. Project contracts – financial appraisal framework. Planning for introduction of fee-for-service activities Plan for Treasury Operations and Financial Risk. VAT considerations in the UK and other fiscal areas. A planning framework for maintaining day to day accounting. Financial software appraisal and selection. Assessment of need for a Corporate structure for fiscal and management purposes. Any other information agreed upon in initial meetings. | |

| Candidates will need to demonstrate a high level of skill and experience in financial consultation and advice. This role will provide a unique opportunity to assist in ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the ISEAL Alliance, so previous financial experience in not-for-profits and an interest in contributing in the sector would be advantageous. We are looking for someone who would be able to commit to approximately 5-10 working days as a consultant over a period of two months (October-November 2008). Our London office is in E1, just off Brick Lane - so Liverpool Street or Aldgate tube. | |
