| The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for all regional financial management and control activities for Southern Africa, including timely and accurate submission of all financial reports and ensuring the country organisations operate good financial practices. With the ability to build excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, core responsibilities of this position are: • To manage local financial activity, contribute to and support achievement of the Regional and In-country business plans and strategies, while at the same time ensuring financial practices are compliant with Group policies and procedures • To prepare all financial reports needed to review and understand the financial performance of the relevant Country business activities • The ability to analyse data provided and produce information in reports with explanations, enabling others to understand the process, issues and solutions • To review financial performance with appropriate Country staff and agree relevant action items • To do a check on the Country’s financial reports, submitted and follow up on any issues identified • All aspects of Financial Reporting to cover cash actuals, cash forecasts, Monthly Flash, Monthly financial reporting pack, etc | |

| The ideal candidate will have: • Qualified accountancy experience with c.5 years international experience in a lead Finance role • The ability to produce an accurate and Timely Trial Balance and Management Accounts • A sound understanding of accounting and auditing standards, it is advantageous with knowledge of Francophone standards. • The understanding of local statutory reporting requirements • Understanding of contract accounting • Experience of report writing and extensive use of Excel spreadsheets • Knowledge of local tax and treasury policies • Knowledge and use of IFS and Hyperion (or other Group consolidation packages) would be advantageous | |
