How can we get involved?
Work-related learning encompasses a broad range of activities which are work/classroom-based:
Enterprise projects
Projects can include tasks which require students to research and make recommendations on a specific initiative/business area. The business benefits through the injection of new ideas and it may allow projects to be completed which may otherwise have been delayed. Students benefit as they can see how their work is impacting the business.
Work experience placements
These are an important factor in shaping students' perceptions of the world of work. It helps them develop their knowledge of a particular occupation, understand employers expectations and gain valuable skills for future employment.

Workshops
These involve a group of students participating in an interactive training session.
Business simulations
Students engage in interactive activities which allow them to put their business and accountancy knowledge into practice and encourage team working and the development of communication skills. Simulations provide an insight into an accountancy career and the work accountants engage in.
Mentoring
Employees work with a student over a period of time to provide coaching, discuss and develop key skills and assist with coursework.
Days in industry
A group of students visit your place of work - this could be for a tour, presentation, trading game, practice interview or a CV development session.
Mock interviews
These allow students to develop a key skill which is crucial for their future - whether it be interviews for university placements or for employment.
Presentations
A group of students are given a presentation to provide them with an insight into an accountancy career, how to qualify and information about your company.
Work shadowing
Ideal for departments/areas of the business unable to provide students with a work experience placement due to the nature of the work, but able to offer students the opportunity to 'watch and learn'.
