Wales Audit Office
Wales has a single audit and inspection body covering all sectors of government, except those reserved to the UK government. Each year, the Wales Audit Office is responsible for auditing over £19 billion of public money. By holding public bodies to account and helping them to improve, the Wales Audit Office aims to make an important contribution to the quality of life of the people of Wales.
We recognise that people are our chief asset and have made a substantial investment in people development. Our aim has been to create a working environment that captures the potential of all of our staff; and uses their skills and talents to add the maximum possible value to our work and to encourage our staff to take responsibility for their own personal, professional development and progression within the organisation. WAO Financial Audit Trainees will receive full financial support to study towards a recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACCA.
You do not need a business-related degree, but you are required to meet our entry requirements. You must have achieved or be on course to gain a 2:1, possess a minimum of 300 UCAS points (or equivalent), have an awareness of current issues within Financial Audit, client-centred work experience and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
