Abu Sayed Mohammed Nayeem

managing director, K&T Logistics, Bangladesh

The opportunities and challenges offered by the accountancy profession - as well as its prestigious image - encouraged Abu Nayeem to select it as a career choice. For Abu, choosing ACCA was a decision he made instinctively: 'ACCA is an internationally-recognised qualification. There are greatly expanding employment opportunities for ACCA members, students and affiliates. To me, ACCA membership means prestige, confidence and recognition both in the business world and society at large.'

Commenting on a full and varied career, Abu says: 'I have always embraced the qualities required of the modern financial professional; professional competence, multi-disciplinary skills, hard work, transparency and integrity.

'Stakeholders today are much more vocal about their expectations and, as a result, the profession is being subjected to ever-increasing levels of regulation. This leaves very little room for accountants who continue to act unethically.'
