Personal Profile for ACCA website
Peter Bussey FCCA
Having left school after A levels as I was unsure of which degree course to take, I spent 2 years travelling the world travelling across America, New Zealand, Australia, South East Asia & then overland from Nepal back to the UK.
As well as having a good time and learning a lot about different cultures and myself, I also used the time to choose between a career in computing, banking, accounting or as a lawyer along the way – and remain pleased with my choice and the varied and interesting career it has provided – as well as a reasonable salary to enable further adventurous holidays even if limited to only 2 weeks.
I studied full time at Norwich City College for 3 years to take the ACCA examinations in 1989, but then had to work a further 3 years to gain the required experience to become an Associate member, which I undertook with Norwich Union. Currently, I am employed as a Management Accountant for R G Carter, a large family run construction firm operating in East Anglia.
My interests are Rugby, Road Running and Rock music - which leads to some surprised looks when they ask what I do!
