Southern Network panel

Paula Goddon FCCA

BT Order Management, Dassault Systèmes UK Ltd
Tel: (07802) 669 751
E-mail: paula.goddon@3ds.com

I joined ICEM Ltd in November 2005 after many years working for IBM UK. ICEM was bought by Dassault Systèmes earlier that year.  I qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2003, but have been in the Accounting Profession for nearly 25 years.  I immediately joined the Southern Network after qualifying, and decided shortly afterwards, I would like to become involved in the Network itself.  I have been a Panel Member since 2005 and enjoy an active role in the development of the network.  Outside of work I enjoy going to the gym, reading murder novels and reading to my young Granddaughter.

I am a Case Officer for the Financial Reporting Review Panel (“ FRRP” ), an operating board of The Financial Reporting Council.  The Financial Reporting Council is the UK’ s independent regulator responsible for promoting confidence in corporate governance and reporting. I qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1995, with Neville Russell, and have worked continuously in practice until joining the FRRP in October 2009. Prior to joining the FRRP, I spent nearly four years with BDO and 7 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers (“ PwC” ).  Whilst at BDO I worked on their larger and more complex clients bringing the benefit of my strong technical accounting and auditing skills to good effect and then joined the national accounting technical group, based in London , in 2008. During my time with PwC I was a senior audit manager providing day to day audit and accounting services to a large number of blue-chip companies including GKN plc and Cobham plc.

Outside of work, I am a Business Mentor for the Prince's Trust providing both business and general advice for entrepreneurial start-up businesses. For relaxation, I enjoy spending time with my wife and young son.

I qualified as an ACCA in 1995 while I was working in the NHS in Southampton. I then had a 2 year stint as an Internal Auditor in the NHS, but then decided I preferred the Accounting side rather than Audit. I then worked in an Agency of the Ministry of Defence, where I obtained good knowledge of preparing accounts on a commercial basis. I currently work for Complete Vehicle Management Ltd, a small private company which deals in all aspects of car sales, brokerage, leasing and car & van hire.  In my spare time I like to go to the gym or play badminton, or sometimes golf.

Jon Wood FCCA

Way back in 1995, I started my career in what was the Inland Revenue.
I'm now working for the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) in London, where I'm involved in the preparation of the Financial Accounts, as well as providing financial training and advice within the MoJ.

The locals still consider me to be new to Ringwood - even though I've
lived there since 1992!   I'm still very much a North Londoner and I've
always enjoyed being in London, so I don't mind the 2hr commute each way.

Outside of the office, I play Hammond Organ and Bass Guitar.  I'm also a member of a local classic car club and I'm looking to purchase and restore a classic car in the near future.
