Choosing an IT consultant
In choosing an IT consultant, you should ask the following questions:
- does the consultancy have membership of any relevant trade associations
- how many clients does the consultancy have
- what types of clients does it have - are any similar to your own organisation
- does the consultancy have a proven track record of doing this kind of work successfully
- what references can it provide from existing or past clients
- how will fees be structured
- what after sales support will there be
- what guarantees are offered on work undertaken or future service/maintenance
Many consultancies also offer maintenance services.
