Hosting your website

Once you have registered your domain, you will then need a provider to host your website and make it accessible to the internet (of course you can register a domain and just use it for your email address without having to set up a website).

Hosting packages will typically include some level of domain registrations. The important features of any hosting provider are the reliability (uptime of your site), the amount of web space available, the site building tools and the level of support or responsiveness. Websites are typically a crucial part of any business and therefore it’s important that you use a reputable hosting provider to reduce any risk of loss of business.

Hosting packages will normally incorporate website builder tools to help you set up your site. These are usually template driven, i.e. you choose from a number of predetermined formats. They are very simple to use, requiring no previous web design experience – the best site builders will have drag and drop functionality (so you can build a website by literally picking up and placing images and text with your mouse).

Should you require something more sophisticated like a custom built website (specific to your requirements), or you just need some help, you can always get the experts to build your site for you – it’s much cheaper than you might think and will get you in the game quickly.
